Mission Statement

Our chapter exists to defend democracy, protect civil rights, and uplift our most vulnerable communities, especially the LGBTQIA+ community. Like other Indivisible groups, we work closely with city, state, and federal representatives - as well as allied organizations - to advocate for progressive policies, provide mutual aid, and fight for the safety, dignity, and freedom of all.

Chapter Objectives

Our work is grounded in action, solidarity, and innovation. Key objectives & initiatives include:LGBTQIA+ Advocacy & Civil Rights Protection
Leading campaigns and community actions to protect queer and trans rights locally and nationally.Mutual Aid & Community Safety
Providing direct support, resources, and crisis response to neighbors in need.Letter-Writing & Rapid Response Advocacy
Coordinating scalable, timely campaigns to pressure elected officials and shape public discourse.Technology for Resistance
Building and sharing tech tools that simplify organizing, amplify voices, and connect isolated allies.Red & Purple State Solidarity
Partnering with at-risk communities outside Chicago—especially in red and purple areas—to offer organizing tools, moral support, and tactical collaboration.Civic Education & Political Literacy
Launching a "Civics 101" curriculum to empower our members and the broader community to understand and influence government at all levels.Creative Resistance & Public Visibility
Including campaigns like the FLAG Project (flying American/Pride flags upside down in peaceful protest), community art, and visual storytelling.
